Diamond boring units and their scope
Diamond boring is a type of core drilling, when the bed rock destruction is arranged not over the entire area, but along the circle sector.
Diamond boring is a stable necessity to drill small holes in brickwork or concrete during construction and renovation works. Puncher comes for support, and it likely copes with the task, albeit sometimes at the cost of a few broken drills. If we deal with the holes larger than 10 mm in diameter, then using a puncher would be difficult. And it is actually impossible to process holes of tens of centimeters. Such drilling is a kind of professional activity and performed through diamond drilling.
Diamond boring (or diamond drilling) is a technological process of producing a hole in a solid construction or natural material, i.e. concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, cast and natural stone, asphalt, etc. Diamond boring is a type of core drilling, when the bed rock destruction is arranged not over the entire area, but along the circle sector. In this case, the destroyed material must be removed from the diamond drilling zone using a washer fluid fed into the drill barrel body by a drilling water pump.
During drilling, the kern retrieved enters and fills the core barrel, so it must be wedged and lifted to the surface.
Technological possibilities of diamond boring are practically boundless today. It is only necessary to choose proper equipment and accessories to eliminate restrictions on material, location, direction, length and diameter. And there are plenty to choose from:
- diamond boring units / diamond drilling units,
- diamond drilling machines,
- diamond boring lathes,
- diamond drills / diamond boring drills,
- diamond kern drilling units,
- diamond core drilling units,
- diamond boring core bits,
- diamond drilling core bits ...
Diamond boring units are professional construction power tools. They are designed to drill holes in concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, stone, foam concrete, asphalt and other solid surfaces. Their usage allows producing precise smooth holes with millimeter accuracy from the planned diameter. The hole diameter is adjusted by the applicable diamond core bits.
Diamond boring units are used to install water, heating and sewerage pipelines, ventilation systems, reconstructing buildings and facilities, drilling kerns in asphalt or bed rocks in mines and faces, etc.
Diamond boring units do not supply strong vibration, dirt and noise during work, and the output holes do not require further adjustment. They are mostly equipped with electric motor. There are also hydraulic diamond boring units, which are completed with hydraulic pumps; the cost of such units is much higher and special training is required to become their diamond boring operator.
The price of a diamond boring unit depends on the manufacturer and its country, as well as technical parameters.
Diamond boring drills are intended to drill holes with diameter ranged from 12 to 250 mm and depth of up to 2 m. Boring should be produced in lightweight concrete, foam concrete, expanded clay concrete, various brick types. This manual method does not involve drilling holes with diameter over 250 mm, as that may result in wedging diamond core bit.
Electric outlet access is required for work. Diamond drills are frequently used during renovations in residential apartment buildings, as well as in completely renovated apartments when installing ventilation, heating or sewerage systems.
They differ in low noise level, absence of dirt when using special dust and water-collecting devices, easy-to-operate and have a wide scope of application when drilling various holes.
Diamond boring drills can be supplied with drill stands. This increases stability and drilling accuracy, as well as allows definitely any inclined drilling.
Large range of accessories and consumables is offered in addition to diamond boring equipment and tools: water and vacuum pump, spacer bar, anchorage, catchment ring, industrial vacuum cleaner, diamond boring core bits, power strips and adapters for them.
The American company Ridgid supplies a diamond boring drill, model HC-2W. This is an all-purpose drill that fits both dry and wet drilling. It provides manual drilling in brickwork or concrete, and also in reinforced concrete using a special stand.
Correctly selected diamond drilling equipment will allow you to carry out all work as quickly, efficiently and safely as possible. Difficult with the choice? Contact our specialists by phone +7 495 232-90-35, e-mail order@itc-russia.ru or leave a request on the website.
